Silas Harrebye

Silas Harrebye is Head of Humanitarian Policy & Analysis at the Danish Red Cross, setting the direction for international humanitarian diplomacy. Before moving into this sector, he worked for over a decade at Roskilde University in Denmark – as an Associate Professor of Social Science and Head of Studies of Global Studies.
Silas has written a series of peer-reviewed articles on democratic crisis, political imagination, and creative activism. His latest books on the topic are In Defence of Hypocracy: On political visions and fallible human beings (Hans Reitzels, 2022), Democratic Coma Demands Shock Therapy (Gyldendal, 2019), and Social Change and Creative Activism in the 21st Century: The Mirror Effect (Palgrave McMillan, 2016). Silas has been a board member of several political and non-profit organizations.
