Meiqin Wang 王美钦
CHINA
Dr. Meiqin Wang received her doctorate degree in Art History from the State University of New York at Binghamton and is currently a full professor at California State University, Northridge. She has researched contemporary art from China in the context of commercialization, globalization, and urbanization of the Chinese world and has written on topics such as artist villages, creative cultural industries, and art and urbanization. Currently, her research focuses on socially engaged art and its related categories, such as public art, artivism, and ecological art in East Asia. Her research interests also include contemporary art of the Asian world and international exhibitions. Her teaching covers historical and contemporary arts from Asia, and her courses emphasize the cultural and political context of artistic production.
